Reguengos de Monsaraz is a municipality and small working city, once famous by its sheep and wool industry, and currently just a stop on the route toMonsaraz.
Nearby the city is the pottery centre of São Pedro do Corval, excellent wineries, and some dolmens and menhirs.
The Igreja de Santo Antonio Church (Parish Church) was built in 1887 and designed by José Antonio Dias da Silva, who also designed the Praça de Touros de Lisboa (Lisbon Bullring).
In the surroundings of Reguengos you will find several wineries, some of them part of the Wine Route, such as the famous Herdade do Esporão, dating back to 1267, and producing a wide variety of wines for national and international markets.
It offers several kinds of visits to discover its vines and taste its cavas. In the area, you will also find interesting historical routes along excavation sites in the fields and wineries of Perdigões, where there is a small museum exhibiting the original labels created for its annual reserve collection.
