Quarteira was a traditional fishing town in Loulé, Algarve, that became a touristic centre due to its vast beach, great avenues with stores, hotels, complexes, and restaurants full of fresh fish.
Praia da Quarteira beach is a urban beach with almost 3 kilometres of sandy area broken by several docks and offering quiet baths.
Next to the beach, you will find a long and lively coastal walk known as Calçadão, offering many touristic facilities and full-of-life terraces.
Towards the western side of the beach, there still is a small nucleus of fishing boats.
