Praia do Barranco beach appears in the mouth of one of Algarve’s most beautiful valleys, with mountainsides covered by tall scrub of juniper and imposing limestone emergences.
Its sandy area is rather small yet it has a small area of dunes, mixed with pebbles towards the interior, which are used by beach-goers to build semicircular shelters.
From the sides, you will have the chance to observe the imposing ruins of a 17th century fortress.
This beach is frequently visited by surfers and caravaners.
