Praia do Zavial Beach lies in the mouth of a seasonal river whose vegetation reaches the sand.
This beach, in the area of Vila do Bispo, highly regarded by surfers, is surrounded by a small eucalyptus forest which is sometimes used for free camping. Its sandy area is large and features a small dune.
In its vicinity it is possible to visit a 17th century fortress. Towards the east you will find the small and quiet Praia das Furnas Beach, owning its name to the grottoes located in cliffs surrounding it.
