This beach is located in an inlet between Ponta de Sagres and São Vicente Cape, in Algarve.
From its sandy area you can see the Ponta de Sagres, its cliffs, and Sagres Fortress, a building dating back to the 16th century, including a 14th century chapel.
Access to this beach is granted through a ramp sculpted in the warm-colored rock.
Praia do Tonel beach lies within the Biodiversity Reserve, where it is especially forbidden to collect any kind of plant.
