Vidigueira is a Portuguese town, located 10 kilometres away from the town of Cuba, in the surroundings of Beja, Alentejo.
This historical town had Vasco da Gama as first Duke.
Some of the most interesting places to visit in Vidigueira are: the ruins of Vidigueira Castle, which stands out because of its stone and brick rigging and, also, because of its keep (still visitable); the Torre do Relógio Tower, from where the bell donated by Vasco da Gama in 1520 still rings; and the Igreja da Misericódia (1620), decorated with 18th century tiles.
On the suburbs of Vidigueira villa de Fras is found. The convent here is decorated with Medieval frescos, and stands upin the ruins of the São Cucufate Roman villa.
