The Museu do Cavalo (Carvalo Museum) is located in the town of Alter do Chão, in the district of Portalegre, Alentejo, Portugal.
The museum is home to the exhibition entitled “Horse and Man, a centuries-old relationship” (“O Cavalo e o Homem, uma relação milenar”) composed by pieces from the Rainer Daehnhardt collection, some more than 30,000 years old.
It’s specially interesting the work entitled “Knight, Death, and Devil” (“O cavaleiro, a morte e o diabo”), an engraving by master Alberto Durero from 1513.
