Built in the mid-16th century, the Igreja da Misericórdia Church of Évora is an important Classical-in-style religious building made by the architect Manuel Pires.
Its current facade and arcade date back to the 18th century, when the building was quite refurbished.
It is a large, single-naved church that lacks a main chapel. Its interior houses Baroque in style tiles, oil paintings by Francisco Xavier de Castro and an outstanding 17th century reredos located in the main altar.
