The Convento de São Bento de Castris (Convent of São Bento de Castris) is a National Monument located in Malagueira, a parish in Évora, Portugal.
Built in 1274 by D. Urraca Ximenes for the Cistercian Order, one day it was the oldest feminine monastery in the south of the Tejo River.
It has a Manueline dome and its walls are sheathed by 18th century tiles showing San Bernardo’s life. The Gothic chapterhouse exhibits certain Renaissance elements adorning it.
The cloister, Mudejar in style (16th century), is completely fresh and elegant.
