The Igreja do Colégio Church, also known as São João Evangelista, is a Jesuit building of Manueline style of the 17th century, which is attached to a Jesuit Convent in the city of Funchal, Madeira.
Its facade is stark and white, opened with numerous windows, framed in black basalt with four niches with images of Saint Ignacio, Saint Francis Javier, Saint Francis of Borja and Saint Estanislao in marble.
This church has only one nave, and a main chapel. On its inside, it hosts some 17th and 18th century paintings, with golden carving mouldings dating back to 1660, and lush baroque altars decorated with bunches of grapes. The sacristy walls are covered with blue and white tiles of the 17th century.
