Ponta do Pargo is the highest occidental pike in Madeira, and is reached by numerous visitors attracted by the fact that there is nothing but hundreds of ocean miles between them and the American coast.
This is a good place to get away and think while you admire the immensity of the ocean from its lighthouse, located 290 metres over the sea level.
From here you might see some fishing boats as well.
To arrive here you can walk through the road Levada Calheta-Ponta do Pargo, which offers wonderful views of the sea and the Paul da Serra plateau.
