The Azulejo National Museum, in Lisbon, is located on the old convent of Madre de Deus.
The main goal of this space is to collect, conserve and study samples that represent with relevance, the evolution of pottery and tiles in Portugal.
The azulejo, handmade and hand painted is known worldwide as an important artistic expression art unique in Portugal.
From its wide asset collection we highlight the tiled complex where it’s represented Lisbon before the earthquake with an incalculable cultural value.
Apart from visiting its permanent exhibition which tells the story of the azulejo in Portugal through beauty and unique samples, we invite you to know the history of the building where the valuable church is inserted.
