The Electricity Museum is located on the old electricity central of Lisbon, the Central Tejo. In its interior you might find that the main permanent exhibition items are original from the former factory.
This exhibition allows the visitors not only to visualize the machinery needed to produce electricity yet also to get to know a little bit more about the electric production procedures.
Nevertheless, due to the importance of substituting the former ways of producing energy for more sustainable processes, this museum also presents some sections where other sources of energy are present, focusing essentially on the renewable sources of energy.
You might also meet the most important scientists for the discovery, development and promotion of the electricity related phenomenon, visualize scale models that simulate the process of production, transport and electricity distribution or even visit the “Experimenting” nuclei where you might try on your own some of the most important electric phenomenon and understand how it works.
