The Calouste Gulbenkian Planetarium is located at Belém, opposite to the Cultural Center of Belém, in Lisbon.
This architectural project was designed by architect Frederico George. The projection room has a circular surface of 23 meters in diameter.
Inside are revealed the mysteries of the cosmos, and you may enjoy an imaginary journey through the planets, a visit to the moon, followed by an expedition in the polar region. In addition, the planetarium presents interesting audiovisual documents on solar and lunar eclipses, the movement of the stars and the solar system, and more.
Some of the presented sessions for the public are: "Camping with the Stars"," Journey to a Black Hole", "Skies of Portugal" or "Hubble Vision, a new vision of the Universe."
The room also features a gallery with permanent and temporary exhibitions.
The planetarium has ramps, lifts and automatic a platform to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility.
