The National Pantheon is located in São Vicente in Lisbon. It was built on top of a primitive church and inaugurated in 1966, 284 years after the beginning of its construction.
The National Pantheon, also known as Saint Engrácia Church, is a place which honors many historic characters as D. Nuno Álvares Pereira, Pedro Álvares Cabral, Vasco da Gama and Luís de Camões.
Here some other important people are buried as the famous fado singer Amália Rodrigues, the writer Almeida Garrett, Humberto Delgado and many others.
