The Estrela Basilica is a baroque temple with a high dome that can be sighted from all over the city.
The project of construction of this beauty basilic was initiated on the second half of the XVIII century after the D. Maria wish of having a son was fulfilled.
The Estrela Basilica has two twin high towers and its interior is ample and decorated on marble.

On the interior you might find the thumb of D. Maria I and a crib with more than 500 figures as well as two beautiful organs.
The Estrela Basilica is considered National Monument.
