The Carriages National Museum (Museu Nacional dos Coches) was created in 1905 by the queen D. Amélia as a way of exposing the interesting heritage of the Royal House Vehicles, and so, the formerly called Royal Carriages Museum is inaugurated.
This museum was installed at the Royal Manege and it was complemented by other vehicles from the Royal House, the Lisbon’s patriarchate and other nobles’ donations.
In the Carriages National Museum you might find a unique collection worldwide as it includes vehicles, props and other objects dating back to the XVIII, XVIII and XIX centuries.
