The Estrela Garden (Jardim da Estrela), also called Guerra Junqueiro Garden, is localized in front of the Estrela Cathedral. Its construction started in 1842.
This garden has always been a trendy spot and, on the ‘70’s is was known for having a lion inside a cage known as the “Estrela’s Lion”.
The Estrela garden has beautiful elements that you’ll enjoy visiting with your family as the ducks and carps lake which you might feed, a green bandstand which is used as a stage for several musicians during the summer months, “Life fountain”, a sculpted trunk and many others.
You might even find great fauna and flora diversity as royal-ducks, swans, peacocks, gooses and flora as fig trees, dragon-tree, rosewood, ginkgo, palm trees, locust pod shrub and others.
